Drunken Nutella Hot Chocolate, Oh my

At this very moment, I have 498 pins. Over half of them are of food and over half of those have something to do with Nutella. (I would have more but I had to show some restraint.)  I’m not the best at math, but I think I may have a Nutella addiction. I can eat it by the spoonful all by itself, baked into cupcakes, inside crepes with bananas, made into ice cream, pumped intravenously into my arm… I could keep going but I think you get the point =) The only food item I may like more than Nutella is marshmallows. (But that’s another story) So, can you imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon Nutella Hot Chocolate that contained both Nutella and Marshmallows? I, of course, added a little Marshmallow Vodka  because I'm just that kinda girl!

Drunken Nutella Hot Chocolate
1 - 1 1/2 cups milk
1 heaping tablespoon of Nutella
Dash of cinnamon (optional but super tasty)
Handful of mini marshmallows
1 1/2 oz Frangelico, Marshmallow Vodka or Creme De Cacao. OR all three! (NOT optional =))

DIRECTIONS

Heat milk in a saucepan over low heat until warm.
Whisk in Nutella and continue stirring until melted.
Add cinnamon and alcohol.
Pour into a mug.
Top with marshmallows and try to only drink one cup.

I used 2% milk because that’s what I drink.  Whole milk would be delicious too. You can try skim milk but let’s not kid ourselves; we’re obviously not counting calories if we’re eating spoonfuls of Nutella.

Add a dash of cayenne pepper if you’re feeling extra daring.

Behind the scenes trivia:
Guess how many mugs of hot chocolate it took to get this shot......

The correct answer is: 3
The first mug I was so excited to drink it I forgot to take a picture.
The camera slipped out of my hand while shooting the second mug and it spilled all over the entire counter and into my silverware drawer.
Third times a charm!

Deliciously Trashy Brownies... Not for the faint of heart

I am an admitted food whore. I drool at the pictures in cookbooks like my husband drools at the Victoria's Secret magazine. Food Network is my porn & Paula, Giada and Rachel are my closest friends. In fact, I'm such a whore that while visiting family in San Francisco, I could not wait to check out the Tyler Florence store in hopes I could get a glimpse of him. (Who needs the Golden Gate Bridge??) He wasn't there... Boo! (Although I did see Bobby Flay while dining at Mesa Grill. Onlookers would have sworn Brad Pitt was in the kitchen by my reaction.)

Needless to say, the recipe for Slutty Brownies was right up my alley. Who wouldn't love a dessert with such a name?!? I whipped up a batch and took them to a friend’s house.
Let's just say the entire pan was devoured in 15 minutes.... Okay, it was ten... Don't judge me...

Although they were incredibly delicious as is, eating them made me feel as though I,
president of the itty bitty titty committee, was back at my junior prom standing on the
sidelines while the big busted popular girl danced with the captain of the football
team. They just weren't slutty enough to get noticed. So I amped it up by throwing on
a pair on heels and some ruby red lipstick, or in baking terms, coconut, walnuts and
caramel and went from slutty to deliciously trashy... Enjoy.

Deliciously Trashy Brownies

One box Krusteaz bakery style chocolate chunk cookie mix
1 egg
1 stick softened butter
1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

One package double stuff Oreos
One box Betty Crocker brownie mix with walnuts
3 TBS water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs

1/4 cup caramel topping

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350*.
Prepare cookie mix according to package directions with the addition of the coconut.
Press into greased 9x9 baking dish.

Top with Oreos

(I know what you're thinking... "Shouldn't there be more Oreos?" Technically, Yes. I was hungry. We're all friends here and therefore, don't look down at each other for not having any willpower. If you can, completely cover the cookie layer with Oreos.... SHOWOFF!! =) )

Next, Prepare the brownie mix according to package directions and pour onto Oreos.

Top with 1/4 cup caramel
Bake at 350* for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool (if you can wait that long) and ENJOY!

Q&A:
What if I don't like coconut?
Then don't add it duh! I go nuts for cowboy butts coconuts so I did.

Wouldn't have been easier to use the Turtle Brownie Mix?
Yes, but this is what I had on hand so I went with it.

Can I add a layer of Marshmallow Creme before adding the Oreos?
Ooh, you dirty dirty girl! ;)

How many servings does this recipe make?
My husband doesn't eat sweets, so in my case 1. I have spent many hours on the elliptical due to my whorish ways! lol
